The second week is my turn to volunteer with the Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion at 364 Dufferin Avenue.Nayong Pilipino PavilionI always think of how lucky we are, as a community, to be given two weeks to share our culture with Winnipeg! My highlight is definitely the hospitality of the volunteers. This year, I decided to take on a few pavilions for the first week of Folklorama. It provides us the unique ability to travel within a two-week time frame, learn some history, all in convenient venues within one great city! We can see beautiful costumes, and sample favourites from that country. If I could summarize my experience in one word, in particular, it would be 'passion.' The emcee, was knowledgeable and proud of his country's history and the performances they were presenting.
