Posted onAugust 18, 2014The summer of music festivals continues with the sixth annual edition of Aboriginal Music Week. AMW will play host to a number of touring acts, and hip hop duo Mob Bounce, music producer Astronomar, violinist Laura Ortman, including first visits from emcee Tall Paul, and guitarist Logan Staats. Running August 20-24 in various Winnipeg venues, film events, workshops, this year's fest will feature a number of free and tickets shows as well as community celebrations, and industry networking. JUNO Award winners George Leach and Leela Gilday are both set to return, rockers The Mosquitoz, champion drum group Spirit Sands Singers, funk-rockers Burnt-Project 1, trip hop singer and 2014 Western Canadian Music Award nominee Iskwé, Métis fiddlers Darren Lavallee and Melissa St. Goddard, including performances from award-winning rock outfit Eagle & Hawk, a and moreHomegrown talent also plays a big part on the bill this year, prehispanico music creator DJ Javier Estrad, along with pop singer Inez Jasper, country chanteuse Frannie Klein.
